Christmas at Kew 2025: Light, Colour and a Mulled Wine in Hand

This year’s Christmas at Kew offers a fresh trail of dazzling displays, festive food, and genuinely magical moments.

Christmas at Kew has become one of London’s essential winter experiences, and the 2025 edition continues the tradition with a trail that feels bigger, brighter and more polished than before. The route is filled with new large scale installations created by internationally recognised artists, transforming Kew’s landscape into a glowing botanical playground of colour and sound.

Visitors can expect plenty of festive street food, hot chocolate, spiced winter warmers and sweet snacks along the trail. A dedicated food court near the Temperate House keeps the atmosphere lively, while The Pavilion Bar and Grill offers a walk in festive menu for those looking for something more substantial.

The trail opens with its strongest visual moment. Entering through Victoria Gate, guests are met with a Brazilian themed projection mapped across the side of a house while oversized illuminated flowers ripple across the nearby water.

Another standout is the mushroom forest. Sculptural forms glow with shifting colours that move through the installation in waves, creating one of the most immersive scenes in the entire trail. It feels calm, organic and cleverly tied to the gardens themselves.

There is also a small fairground area featuring traditional rides including a merry go round, ferris wheel and a classic spiral slide, adding a nostalgic touch without distracting from the main event.

Christmas at Kew remains a ticketed experience separate from general admission and continues to be one of the most polished festive offerings in the city. The scale, creativity and atmosphere make it an easy recommendation for visitors looking for a winter activity that delivers visual impact without relying on theatrics.
